The Toronto Professional Hockey Club was Toronto's first professional hockey team, playing in the Ontario Professional Hockey League. The Toronto Pro HC was also the first team from Toronto to challege for the Stanley Cup, losing to the Montreal Wanderers in 1908.

HistoryEdit

The Toronto Pro HC was founded in 1906 to give Toronto its first professional hockey team. Toronto would play its first ever game against the Canadian Soo team of the International Hockey League (IHL), losing 7-0 in their home arena. For two seasons, the club continued to only play exhibition games. However, in 1907, Toronto helped found the Ontario Professional Hockey League (OPHL), and began playing league games in 1908.

1908 Stanley Cup ChallengeEdit

On March 14, 1908, Toronto played the Montreal Wanderers in a one game championship for the Stanley Cup. The Wanderers won the game 6-4, and with it the Stanley Cup.
